For years, the best-selling Learn to Read series has provided teachers with engaging stories for their emergent readers. Sight Words (pink) – Allows students to practice reading and writing sight words found in the story as well as other commonly used sight words.

Phonics (blue) – Provides practice with the phonics skills introduced in each story, such as reading and writing words with blends, short and long vowels, and word families.

Vocabulary (green) – Reinforces content-based and high-frequency vocabulary words found in each story.

Skill (orange) – Allows students to develop an understanding of other important language arts concepts, such as compound words, opposites, contractions, spelling patterns, and more. Each skill page also extends the content learning reflected in the story.

Activity (purple) – Allows students to create their own personal mini books to practice phrasing and fluency. Each mini book reinforces the content and skills presented in the corresponding Learn to Read story.
